GET TO KNOW ME
Hello,
Welcome to my E-portfolio. My name is Itzelda D. Lascano.
I became a teacher, assistant and professor for a very simple reason - I want to make a difference. I have had work in many fields in which I could accomplish this goal but I feel that education is the one in which
I can have the greatest impact to share my knowledge with this new generation.
I know in my heart that teaching is my passion and will benefit my students. I am a patient, understanding, have compassion and enthusiasm to turn over to my students in a day by day basis.
In this E-portfolio, I hope you will find the most important aspects about me, my philosophy and views of education, my teaching style, and many aspects of the teaching & learning process.
Enjoy!

Teaching Philosophy

I consider that the vital goal of teaching is to foster learning. In addition, I believe that as educator we must have several achievable objectives which should be relevant to our teaching responsibilities. In order to achieve this, is necessary to understand that learning takes place in many different circumstances; contexts and that learners have multiple learning styles.

Objectives

In my opinion the most relevant objectives as a teaching member are:

Objective 1: have a disposition to listen and answer any questions. In the teaching- learning environment; suitable feedback is vital to the process. With every class that I used to teach in my Master degree projects, I learned a little more about my learners, the content, and myself. The most important lesson learned it was receiving as much as I gave.

Objective 2: As an Instructor, I would like my students to have input into the course content in advance so that the issues we address are relevant to them.

Objective 3: In k-12 environment is vital for the learners to know where to find information, how to evaluate that information, and how to make an informed decision based on their understanding of the issues. To encourage such skills, I will develop a procedure. This will give students the opportunity to investigate a topic, teaches them how to effectively locate the information, to obtain their achievement.

Objective 4: Learners should be actively engaged in the learning process. I have taken creative, innovative, and problem solving skills. Through my internship and applied project to incorporate technology Master of Science, Technology Integration in Education Post- Baccalaureate, high school and college teaching experience. I incorporated these techniques into my teaching.
